About Space Station Live
Space Station Live is NASA's live streaming feed from the International Space Station (ISS), offering a real-time view of Earth from orbit at 250 miles above the surface. The ISS travels at 17,500 miles per hour, completing one full orbit of Earth every 90 minutes, meaning the live feed cycles through a complete day-night cycle multiple times per day. When the station passes over lit portions of Earth, viewers can watch continents, oceans, weather patterns, city lights, and geographical features scroll by in stunning detail. The feed also captures orbital sunrises and sunsets — one of the most beautiful sights available anywhere on the internet. During spacewalks (EVAs), the feed may switch to cameras capturing astronauts working outside the station. When the station is on the dark side of Earth, the screen shows a screensaver with mission information.
